The Ocean Experiences team are only too keen to share the beauty of the ocean as well as the beauty of the Cape Town Atlantic Coastline on our unique Ocean Safari. Like a game drive on the water you will be cruising in style on our RIB boat while seeing the Mother City from a different perspective.
1 hr 30 min - Upon arrival at the shop you will be met by the friendly OceanX crew, followed by the completion of paperwork. The experience starts with an informative safety and marine life briefing. After the briefing you will don your life jacket and head to the boat. Enjoy a 1 - 1.5 hour (weather & marine life dependent) boat ride along the Atlantic Seaboard coastline with stunning views of Table Mountain and the Twelve Apostles mountain range. Keeping a close eye on the ocean and searching for the Marine Big 5 of Cape Town (whales, dolphins, seals, penguins and the allusive sunfish). Bird lovers are also in luck as Cape Town offers a variety of pelagic bird life species.

Had a fabulous morning on perfectly calm waters seeing dolphins, dusky, and loads of humpback whales playing and feeding. A must experience made even better by Avril and rhiad who were excellent. Thanks so much
A group of us did the Ocean Safari with Simon at the helm. The trip was fabulous and we saw most of the marine life we could have seen. We saw seals, dolphins and sun fish, but the highlight was seeing two southern right whales. Simon was an excellent guide and the trip was excellent. This is a great way to spend an hour and a half if you are in Cape Town.
I went for a helicopter ride and from there they gave me a complimentary ocean safari with OCEANX!! I personally suggest people to try ocean safari with SIMON than going for a ride on helicopter, very nice ride, really appreciated!!
The boat ride was nice and crew were nice, attentive and polite. We weren’t lucky with the “encounter with the wild ocean life”, though and the reason I only place 4 stars to the tour. We found 1 penguin and a couple of seals. But it was a nice boat ride.
